Hard work, intelligence and devotion.
The Fitzlnn Story
We own and operate parking facilities and we manage them for others. Since going
into business nearly sixty years ago, we have parked more than 100,000,000 cars in more
than 1000 parking lots and garages.
We also work as consultants. We have helped developers, public agencies, financial
institutions and other private and public entities to solve parking problems
and to plan, finance and build parking facilities.
A Unique Organization:
We are unique in our field -- a local, privately held company with a national
perspective. Our special strengths include: |
 |
- Parking experience in urban and suburban areas stretching from Chicago to Baltimore
and through much of New England;
- A solid management team, with years of hands-on experience as well as executive skills
in every aspect of the parking business;
- A long track record as an innovator in the application of new technologies to parking facility operations;
- A history as a pioneer in the creation and operation of airport and mass transit parking facilities;
- Comprehensive consulting skills that are based on real-world experience in urban
and suburban environments;
- And a strong sense of commitment to the communities we serve, to the quality
of city life, and to finding ways to accommodate the needs of the driving
public while minimizing urban congestion and environmental concerns.
High Quality, Courteous Service
When managing facilities owned by others, as when working for ourselves, we provide the
kinds of high quality, courteous services that create lasting good impressions.
We know that a well run, well-maintained parking facility enhances the image of a property and its owner,
while providing a significant revenue stream.

A Company That Cares About the Communities It Serves
While serving our customers, clients and business partners, we also work to help
preserve what is best in the cities and towns we serve, to help shape their futures
in positive ways. Our concerns about the quality of life and the environment are reflected
in much of what we do.
When we design an urban parking operation, for example, we are careful to shape
it to best direct traffic and queue motorists inside parking areas, off city
streets.
We strive to make our parking lots and garages attractive additions to their
neighborhoods. We pay careful attention to cleaning, maintenance and beautification
-- from landscaping and seasonal plantings to the mural that overlooks our lot
at the intersection of Dartmouth and Newbury Street.

We also work to encourage programs that reduce
traffic congestion. In that context, we have supported telecommuting programs
and promoted bicycle and pedestrian promotions. We offer significantly reduced
monthly parking rates for participants in the
CARAVAN commuter vanpool program, and we support rent-by-the-hour Zipcar car sharing.
On another level, we have supported institutions and community programs in
the Greater Boston Area and beyond. For example, company president Kevin
W. Fitzgerald
has served as an officer, trustee or board member of institutions
and organizations that have included Hebron Academy, Nashoba Brooks School,
Northeastern University, New England Medical Center, New England Baptist
Hospital, The Boston Theater District Association,
and The Franklin Park Preservation Society.

Encouraging Public Transportation
As the operator of the Logan Express facility in Woburn, we are very proud of our affiliation with Massport's Logan Express
program that offers shuttle bus service out of suburban satellite terminals to and from Logan Airport.
To encourage more use of public transportation, we operate parking facilities that supplement MBTA station parking.
We are working to add more such facilities to help ensure that adequate parking exists to make public transportation a
practical option for suburban commuters.
Principles Matter
When asked to explain why his company did so well, our founder William J. Fitzgerald's response was typically direct:
"We have no magic," he said, "except hard work, intelligence and devotion."
In all the years he led our company, he remained faithful to those principles. We who have followed him have tried
to do the same. |
